I have heard about the north american union and the amero before, through independent movies and documentaries, some leftist and some right wing, but they all agree on the same thing: the amero, the north american union and the collapse of the dollar and the economy. Pastor David Gates also mentions it, that the economy is on its way to collapse.
This man, Hal Turner, is a white nationalist (white supremacist/ racist). I read some articles on his blog (halturnershow.blogspot.com)
I think we could have read that en El Conflicto de los Siglos or in many other Ellen G. White writings years ago.
This scares me very much, because I live in the middle of the city of Houston (the fourth largest city in the US),
But I trust the Lord that He will protect His people.
When Jerusalem was destroyed by the Roman armies, no christians perished.
Why? Because Jesus had warned them and when they saw Jesus' warning
they knew it was time to leave the cities and not look back.
We live under God's mercy, every single day of our lives. He is our shelter.

So when you ask me, Have I heard about this Amero and the economic collapse and this crisis thing?
Yes. From different and conflicting sources. I saw a socialist-left leaning video warn about it a couple of months ago (they also claimed that 9/11 was planned by the US goverment). And now I've seen a racist/ right-wing republican catholic man talk about it. And he shows physical proof of it as well.
But you know what I've also heard about? The end of the world and Christ's Second coming. We have read it in the Bible millions of times.
We pray for it in church. We've read about it in Ellen G. White's writings. But most of all, we can feel it. We know it is close. The signs are everywhere and they are getting harder and harder to ignore.
So why are we scared? Christ is coming! Praise the Lord!
I hope that we are ready for what is about to happen.
I pray for us, so that God will make us strong, so that we can be faithful, even until death.

This is the first time that I have heard about this, so I don't know much about it. I just know that things are finally getting to an end, and as you said, God is coming, Amero o no Amero.
It's shameful that it's so much easier for us to become alarmed by some random guy we've never seen before, who can be a total hoax for all we know and to take E.G.W's writings, of whom we have proof and totally question her....
I am not saying this is what went on here; it is a general comment for all our fellow SDAs.
WE've heard lots of things about the end times, and like you say, we already knew about it. God didn't reveal the nitty gritty to us, but we know what will happen, if we study what he provided.
HE is coming. He will not delay this time. It's going to happen wether we're ready or not. Lets pray for His helping us prepare and his mercy upon us too..
Oh, I almost forgot... you mentioned that the Jews escaped the destruction of Jerusalem, but we must clear up that the ones that survived were the ones that listened to God's warnings and paid close attention to what was going on around them. When it was time to go, they didn't go back home to pack, they just fled- and survived. That's the attitude we must emulate.
Yes, you are right, Melissa. They only jews that escaped the destruction of Jerusalem where the ones that watched for Christ signs and escaped when the window of opportunity was open. Let's pray and watch, and when the time comes, we will be awake and ready to do what we need to to stand for God's law.
